The MegaMow team are grass-cutting experts with an entrepreneurial spirit. Our co-founders, Rob and Quintin, have known each other for many years, and their entrepreneurial nature brought them together to create the MegaMow brand after working with a number of different companies. Here’s how they became pioneers in the lawn-mowing world.

A match made in grassy heaven

When MegaMow cofounder Quintin moved to the UK from South Africa in 2005, he met Rob, who would ultimately become his business partner, while working together for a grass-cutting company: “I worked with Rob quite a bit in the first years. I like to work with my hands, I have a technical background; my family all worked in the motor industry, so when Rob and I met I was doing the maintenance and hands-on technical stuff like looking after the kit. That’s really what I enjoy doing, I’ve got an eye for detail and quality and I’m a self-confessed perfectionist. These are core skills for a customer-facing, operational business, and they complement Rob’s skillset which is more about the business management and strategy.”

Visions of growth

Over the years, Rob and Quintin were fortunate enough to have been involved in several successful companies, but Rob now wanted to focus on creating a business that would change the face of the industry. Having learnt how important it is to work with people both with complementary skillsets and shared values and visions he sought out his old friend Quintin.

“The company I was working for was really successful and I wanted to help grow it further,” explains Rob. “The people I was working with were great, but they were different ages, had different thought processes and didn’t have the same aspirations for business as we did.”

Combining sector expertise with business knowledge

MegaMow grew out of this desire to develop a scalable business, combined with the sector knowledge that Rob and Quintin shared in grass cutting. “I knew I had to find something else I wanted to do; it had to be something I had a background in that I knew inside out and would be scalable. And that’s exactly what MegaMow is,” comments Rob. “MegaMow is 14 years in the making and 10,000% focussed!”

Pooling their entrepreneurial aspirations with their knowledge of grass-cutting has led to MegaMow: a new, innovative and successful business that is changing the way people book and manage their grass cutting, using the latest technology to take away hassle and give our customers back more of their weekends.
