Why we don’t like stripy lawns

With over 15 years’ experience, the methods we use to cut your grass have been perfected to make sure your lawn is getting the best care possible. We’ve picked up on quite a lot of tricks along the way and know that stripy lawns aren’t as good as you may have been led to believe.

Causing damage

They may look nice, but when there are stripes on lawns it means that the grass has been rolled. This results in horizontal growth which encourages thatch, which you don’t want. Thatched grass creates an environment perfect for pests and disease, this can damage your grass roots in the process. Therefore, it’s best to avoid striped lawns as you could ruin your grass in the long run.

Our methods

Instead, we use mulching mowers which cut your grass up into tiny bits and puts it back into the lawn, which acts as a natural fertiliser by recycling the nutrients of the grass back into the lawn.  This in turn means you save more time and money as it reduces the need for you to put additional feeds into the grass to keep it healthy.

So along with the added benefits of having a great looking lawn, you know it’s getting the right care and we aren’t hurting it in the process by creating a striped lawn.
